Epoch hits LA
Fine
dining meets hip-hop at this stylish, new Restaurant Row
supper club. In a way, this grand restaurant is a paradox.
Its opulent formal dining room and sophisticated Southern-American
menu is contrasted by the lively hip-hop scene upstairs
– so popular that people wait behind the velvet rope
all night trying to get in.
Reminiscent
of the great dining rooms of a by-gone era, Republic is
sexy and expansive with 20 ft. ceilings, a fire pit, waterfall,
and two story wine tower featuring beautiful wine fairies
that flutter up and down while searching for that perfect
pairing.
Chef
Arturo Paz has created a fantastic menu with a strong Southern
influence. I loved the lobster corndogs, mini pulled pork
sandwiches, and pan roasted Chilean sea bass, which melted
in my mouth. But the orange chile marinated skirt stake
with buttermilk onion rings will have you coming back for
more.
On
any given night the upstairs club is filled with a sexy
Hollywood crowd partying to the latest R&B and house
music. The night we were there they had a “Pimp my
Ride” party with several MTV celebrities and a gorgeous
crowd.
For
a taste of Southern Decadence and a hot night out - all
hail the Republic!
