Sure Phuket is overly commercialized and high energy, but I found Hilton Phuket Arcadia is a great way to experience the action of Phuket while still enjoying the sereneness that one can only find in Thailand.

6. Hilton Cologne, Germany

This hotel is so chic and streamlined, you won’t believe it’s a Hilton. It’s as cool as any boutique hotel I’ve stayed in. Rooms are sparse, featuring brush concrete and industrial windows. There is a great bar downstairs, called Ice Bar and it is just a two-minute walk to the Cologne Cathedral and Old Town.

My favorite hotel in Amsterdam. Sitting on the canal, removed from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam central, this property offers peace and quiet amid the craziness of this wild city. A big plus is that it is just minutes from the major museums and Amsterdam’s best shopping. Ask to take a private boat ride on the canals, you’ll love it!

The 41 pools versus one big one make this resort a hit. Pools are surrounded by “small casitas”, which offer luxury and privacy versus the craziness often found at larger pools. It’s easy to spend the day, floating in solitude, reading and having lunch with a special someone outside your own private hacienda.
